Zellige tiles, also known as zellij, are among the oldest and most iconic tiles in the world. At Villa Tiles, we are proud to offer these authentic handmade Moroccan tiles sourced directly from Fez. The tradition of Zellige has been perfected since the 12th century, originally created for mosaics in mosques and palaces. Our skilled craftsmen still hand-hew each Zellige tile making sure, that each tile preserves this centuries-old artistry. We make the Zellige tiles the same way as ever, – from terracotta – which we fire both before and after glazing, resulting in durable, high-quality tiles.

Zellige tiles are renowned for their vibrant colors, rich textures, and unique shapes. At Villa Tiles, we offer a curated selection of hand-shaped Zellige tiles in multiple sizes and patterns, perfect for creating stunning walls, floors, and decorative mosaics. The traditional hand-hewn Zellige tiles are available in sizes up to 10×10 cm, preserving the authentic Moroccan style.

In addition to our Zellige, Villa Tiles also offers authentic Bejmat tiles, another treasured element of Moroccan craftsmanship. Unlike the small mosaic pieces of Zellige, Bejmat tiles are handmade from terracotta. We shape the Bejmat tiles into rectangular or square bricks, making them especially suited for floors, courtyards, patios, and walls. Their rustic surface and natural variations bring warmth and texture, while glazed options in classic Moroccan colors – deep green, cobalt blue, white, or black – add a striking vibrancy.
